About the Project

Promoting Quality Education for Vulnerable Children (Phase 2) continues ILIN’s commitment to quality and continuous education for vulnerable children in the remote community of Khanigaun, Dhorpatan Rural Municipality, Baglung. The project supports the Jhak Child Development Center, which currently serves 50 children, with 26 having already progressed to continue their education in nearby schools.

Children in Khanigaun face limited access to quality education due to geographical isolation, poverty, and inadequate educational facilities, and children from Magar, Dalit, and other disadvantaged families often lack essential school materials, proper learning environments, and adequate support. In this phase, the project sustains and strengthens that support — providing school uniforms, educational materials, teacher support and training, and assistance for basic infrastructure and child-friendly classrooms, while continuing parental awareness activities that encourage families to keep their children in school.

Objectives

Ensure continued access to quality and continuous education for financially weak, disadvantaged, and marginalized children.
Provide essential school uniforms, educational materials, and learning resources to children in need.
Improve school infrastructure and maintain safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environments.
Strengthen teachers through training, educational resources, and necessary professional support.
Promote parental awareness and community participation in children’s education and regular attendance.
Provide continued educational support to children as they progress to higher grades and nearby schools.

Activities

Providing school uniforms, educational materials, and essential learning resources to children.
Sustaining basic school infrastructure and child-friendly classrooms.
Supporting teachers through salaries, training, and educational resources.
Delivering ongoing educational support to the 50 children at Jhak Child Development Center.
Conducting parental awareness activities to strengthen community participation.
Facilitating children’s continued education as they move on to nearby schools.
