About the Project

Empowering Youths through Education and Skills (EYES Phase IV) is the current phase of ILIN’s flagship youth scholarship programme, continuing the work established through EYES 1, 2, and the Follow-On phase. Running from 2024 to 2026 across Kathmandu and surrounding districts, it provides comprehensive, multi-year support to promising but economically disadvantaged students. Rather than covering tuition alone, EYES Phase IV funds the whole student ecosystem — academic and vocational fees, accommodation, health support, and a monthly stipend — so that talented young people are not forced to abandon their education because of financial hardship. Through this phase, 25+ youth scholars are currently being supported on their path toward qualifications, employment, and long-term self-reliance.

Objectives

Provide continuous, comprehensive scholarship support to disadvantaged youths in Kathmandu and surrounding districts.
Cover the full cost of education — tuition, accommodation, health, and living stipend — to prevent dropout.
Enable students to pursue academic and vocational qualifications that lead to employment.
Support the wellbeing and stability of scholars throughout their studies.
Carry forward and strengthen the EYES model built over the earlier phases.

Activities

Selecting and vetting promising, economically disadvantaged youths as scholars.
Funding tuition, accommodation, health support, and monthly stipends for active scholars.
Providing educational materials and ongoing academic support.
Mentoring students and monitoring their academic progress throughout the programme.
Guiding scholars toward further education or employment on completion.

Project Outcomes

25+ disadvantaged youth scholars are currently receiving full, multi-year educational support.
Students at risk of dropping out are able to continue their academic and vocational training.
Scholars benefit from stable accommodation, health support, and stipends that sustain their studies.
The EYES programme continues to build toward employability and self-reliance for its beneficiaries.
